It was surprising to see that most people said no. I read a thread in the DC Comics forums in which somebody asked people if they would go for an ongoing Batman series by Neil.

Some of the old Justice Society guys are pretty sweet also, like reading Sandman Mystery Theatre (I think there was a reference to him as well in ol' Morpheus debue) which was mega-serious and I had no idea his comics were like this based upon the reference or the time mention you see alongside guys like Hourman or Doctor Fate. I haven't read the entire Sandman series yet but I remember seeing the Martian Manhunter in the first issue, plus you wrote Constantine into your Books of Magic and stuff, so I think it's great how you've tied your Vertigo stuff into the DCU and made it connect while still enveloping the different moods of these brands.Įven if you stick to what you said about never doing another Batman, do you think you might be interested in doing any other DC (like main, not Vertigo) heroes?Ĭharacters who have a similar feel might be the Question (even if it's been recast) who I always liked how Batman showed up at the start of his comic too. just reading the foreward now and I think it's totally awesome Alan got a chance to work on this. Right now Nightwing and Damian are running around trying to fill in a void and so forth. There was the whole '51' and 'Year Later' and all that but still, it's a pretty recent event. I know it's pretty recent because the Crisis didn't happen exactly a long time ago. So anyway I'm not sure exaclty when this was printed, I know 2009 and we only got it here Sept 10. If you don't know about the whole 'Final Crisis' thing with Darkseid and so forth then you should skip this thread. Suddenly when I picked it up at home I was all "OMG Neil Gaiman". I was comic-browsing (grabbing a big stack to check out to read over the weekend) at a library and picked up the Deluxe Edition of this, because I read anything Batman.
